This is a fully on-line Paper. There are no lectures or tutorials. These are replaced by reading and on-line tests. It is up to students to manage their own time and workload in relation to this Paper. Students should contact the Paper Convener by email (billc@waikato.ac.nz) should they encounter any difficulties in the course.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the ethical considerations to be taken into account when conducting social research.

The readings and assessment should require the time normally associated with a 15 point second year course, that is, an average overall of about 11 hours per week. In general, one point of a Paper's size equates to approximately 10 hours’ total work; so a student might expect to spend about 150 hours in total during a semester on a 15-point Paper.
